Cosmology

Definition Cosmology (noun):
  • The higher structure and order of reality.
This series is about what I call cosmological thinking, or the decomposition of reality into neatly ordered sets [1], relating to the origins of formal, conceptual reality.
[1]By this point in time, cosmology in the vernacular has mostly been restricted to the study of the origins of the material universe [1-1], through the tools provided by astronomy. This series isn't about that kind of cosmology.
[1-1]Formerly, cosmogony. The general shift towards materialism → has lead for cosmogony to usurp the name of its predecessor.
Similarly, cosmology used to be the religious study of the origins of transcendental reality, though the tools provided by theology. This series isn't about that kind of cosmology either.
